
Raymond Sikora, Board of Education
Raymond Sikora has been a Burlington resident since 1992. He has served as a member of the Region 10 Board of Education since 2001, including the last two years serving as the Board’s Secretary. During his tenure on the Board, the Region 10 school district successfully upgraded its infrastructure with the renovation of multiple school buildings and seamlessly recruited and transitioned two new superintendents.
Ray has also been active in the community in a number of organizations, serving as a coach in both youth baseball and soccer from 1994-1999, and a Boy Scouts leader in both Cub Scout Pack 431 and Boy Scout Troop 23 from 1998-2009.
Ray earned a B.S. degree from Trinity College and an MBA from the University of Hartford. He has worked for the Hartford Financial Services company for over 34 years, including roles at both at the Hartford location and also the Southington location, which serves the AARP membership for personal lines insurance products. Ray also has earned two professional designations, Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) from the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. He has also been a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).
Ray and his wife Ginger have two children, a son Stephen who will be a senior at Lewis Mills High School, and a daughter Jacquelyn who graduated from Lewis Mills High School in 2007 and is currently attending Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
