Leigh Smith, Board of Education

  Leigh Smith is a candidate for Board of Education. He has been a Burlington resident since 2006.  He views his candidacy for Board of Ed as an extension of his ongoing commitment to community service.  As a parent, he appreciates the importance of education and understands its role in the community.

  Leigh has over 20 years experience in financial services marketing, including leadership roles at American General and The Hartford.  Currently, he is Director of Marketing for Hartford Life’s Association/Affinity group.

  Leigh received his Master’s degree from Florida State University.  He has been a featured presenter at American Banker and Direct Marketing Association conferences, speaking on topics such as consumer credit, segmentation, and database analytics.

  He currently lives in Burlington with his wife Susan and their daughters, Amelia and Emma.  Amelia attends Lake Garda Elementary, and Emma will attend kindergarten there in 2010.
