James Chard, Board of Selectmen

  Jim Chard has been a member of town government for 17 years, and is currently serving his sixth term as a member of the Board of Selectmen

  A lifelong resident of Burlington, Jim was elected to serve on the Zoning Board of Appeals in 1992. Following that role, Jim was elected to the Planning & Zoning Commission, and was the Commission’s secretary. During his time on Planning & Zoning, he was also a member of Burlington’s Plan of Conservation and Development Subcommittee.

  Jim currently is employed at F.J. Chard & Son Inc., a Burlington-based, family-owned business that was established in 1947. He is also a former President of the Connecticut Heating and Cooling Contractors Association, and has been a member of the Board of that group since 1998.

  Jim and his wife Cheryl are the proud parents of two children.
